Plantains can act as a seratonin regulator. So too Pina Coladas.

I, too, am hopeful that the US Greige Era will soon come to an end. Let’s get some vibrancy in our neighborhoods.

Thanks for sharing!

We were glad you were able come, with your busy schedule and what not. Wouldn’t have been as much fun without you. We consider you part of the family.

That lime green house is exactly the color I just spray-painted all my patio tables and fingers. The fingers inadvertently.

Called "Willow Green". I love it! Very summery.

Thanks for the photos. We’ve been meaning to visit, but there’s only so much time (and money) to go around. For the time being, I’ll imagine the colors of the buildings, the cobblestones and plantains.

Thank you for the lovely pictures of my lovely island. I now live in North Carolina and miss mofongo every day.

Oh wow! I spent my childhood in Puerto Rico and grew up El Condado. I loved going to El Morro and Old San Juan. And I still dream of Puerto Rican food! Glad you had a lovely time 😃

This is the difference from being a parent for 30+ years: I would’ve ran to the bottle-smashing kids and yelled, “¡Ay! ¡Podrías dañar tus ojos!”

Glad you had such a lovely family vacay.

Fried plantains are yummy....pina coladas out due to coconut allergy (yeah, I’m the one holding up your shopping reading every ice cream label..)...love the colors!

This is my summer of traveling vicariously - thank you for adding Puerto Rico to the itinerary! Wonderful thoughts, pictures, and historical details. Need plantains and pinas soon...

I was a Peace Corps vounteer in Senegal, West Africa, years ago. People used broken pieces of glass placed with sharp edges up in concrete to top walls, in place of barbed wire. Maybe that's what they were up to (?)
