On Monday morning, I woke up with the urge to share a piece of this song I recorded back in June. I had one microphone, Casey and I were on a sort of in-between-tours retreat to Michigan, and I recorded this while she was napping.
The original demo is from November 2022. I’m always amazed about how closely our bodies want to repeat annual cycles, hear things from an earlier time when the season rolls around again.
I shared a snippet of the song on Monday and the rest of the song today. It feels different now, after Tuesday’s news. But the world is the same now as it was then, hard (and heartening) as that is to bear.
