Today we play Red Rocks!
“We” being Katie Crutchfield, Brad Cook, and me—a special incarnation of Katie’s project/band Waxahatchee.
We’re playing four shows opening for Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats—two last weekend in Missoula, two here at Red Rocks.
Nathaniel, band, and crew have welcomed us with exceedingly open and friendly arms. They couldn’t be sweeter.
It’s been almost two months (!) since I’ve written here. In July I realized I wouldn’t be able to keep up the almost-weekly cadence while also working on Avrom Farm Party and another event, so I put the blog on pause. Now that those festivals are over (and they went smoothly) I expect to get back to regular sharing.
I missed this/you! Amorphous Substack “you.” Thank you for sticking around and I hope your summer has been fun and safe.
With gratitude! —Spencer
Omg Spencer, Red Rocks! Did your toddler self imagine that you’d be PLAYING at that magical place? What a dream! And one you’ve earned on your own. Break a leg!
So proud of you, Spencer! That’s amazing that you’re playing Red Rocks!!
