Very cool that you got to experience this all (and participate, too), Spoon!

Those last three paragraphs are… it. Thank you for sharing, and for highlighting the family we create. And for reminding me why my daddy, a black man from Pascagoula who lived the majority of his life in a segregated country, loved that “red-haired soul brother” til his dying day. 🕊️

That feeling of being part of a family is the one I get every time at Solid Sound, Spencer, or any time I see Wilco and Tweedy and Friends, period. You and the entire extended Wilco family are more than worthy heirs to Willie’s legacy. Thank you for this thoughtful piece, for your music, and for all you do to uplift in good and bad times. Grateful just to sometimes share the same space with you🙏🏻

I long to be in spaces where I feel comfort, pride, and belonging in the presence of our great, colorful rag. I'm so grateful that this space can be found on Willie's stage.

What an honor! Saw the tour with Wilco in NYC. Wilco is my favorite band, but Willie was the highlight for me as well. Shook me to my core.

We need to keep spreading kindness and love- now more than ever. We could all be more like Willie.

RESPECT. Clear and concise, full of feeling post. You just have to be so grateful and appreciative.

Solid Sound family too achieve noticeable peace. Cops / security become onlookers seeing true love in action.

I hope they let you into their tent and mingle with you. That would be the best.

“Right on! Instead of kicking the jackass out of the bar, I’d roll him a joint or buy him a drink and ask: So… what side of history do you want to be remembered on? Funny thing is, that question hits harder than a hangover.” ✌️🥁🎸🇺🇸

Thanks for sharing Spencer - So glad for you to get to be part of all that! Glad to hear Willie is still bringing it - sorry I missed the last stop in NC - gotta see about catching him (and Waxahatchee !) again soon.

Love Lukas and Micah so much! My friend Elaine is Willie’s promotions person, so always get to hear good stories about working with him. A force of nature! Went to a client’s house today to pick up alterations and she had him on her speakers….of course I sing along…
