Giving 50 thumbs up to this endeavor and more of your creative work! I now realize that the image of someone having 50 thumbs is terrifying, but you get my intent.
Glad you’re gonna be sharing stuff over here! Figured it was bound to happen sooner or later somewhere, so it’ll be fun to see what’s kicking around your head/heart/wherever creativity comes from. Happy New Year!
Nicely written. Wise to take the advice of Rosanne. I actually took a songwriting class with her years ago. Didn't know much about her honestly other than, like you, she had a famous Dad. One thing she said at the end of the class was curiously almost a 180 turn from the quote you write here. A classmate asked her about art vs. fame. And she said that she worked in a level of the music business where when people wished her good luck on a new project, chances are most of them didn't mean it. She then went on to tell us that while we should try to get our music out, it had to be it's own reward too.
Maybe not completely opposite of songs not being complete until their "heard". But I guess the point is to not let yourself be defined by your audience. Wether that's just your friends or thousands at a huge concert. I dunno.
What a nice surprise to see this notification come up! I can’t even remember how old you were when I first started following your blog-maybe 14? So half a lifetime ago? Damn! I remember you ended up losing some of that blog content in a server switchover or something and that was kind of tragic because it was so fascinating to follow the blooming of a creative adolescent mind. Hopefully this is more stable. So of course I’m interested and can’t wait to see what becomes of this new channel of communication. I look forward to hearing what becomes of your recording session too!

Hey, glad to see you back and sharing your work, thoughts, and projects. First saw you in the article in TapeOp magazine, and started following Observations and listening to your music. Then your family's videos during COVID lock-down helped ease that troubled time.
So Thank You! for all the work and entertainment. Look forward to what's next.
The Tweedy Show was an "others" experience for many of us "siblings" -- it probably felt very different from the broadcast side of things, though you did see some of the comments when you weren't playing. But it is a valuable lesson to go outside the self for rewards and I commend you for seeking dialogue to feed your creative soul. Make sure you don't turn this into an obligation! (Says the guy who didn't write a blog post in all of 2022)
Great to see you are back at it! You are connected to so many musicians in CHI and beyond and it would be great to hear how those collabs come together, differences in creative approaches, how you complement their sound/approach while adding your own touches, etc.
I think you’re onto something here. There’s a lot to be gained from bandying things about during the creation process and I bet there are lots of super creative peops in here with lots of amazing perspectives.
Happy to be connected, and look forward to what develops!

Awsome to see your new endeavors, keep it alive blondie! Really interestedto see your new flights. "Spoonie" might be too much vanilla. Big kiss safe travels from Portugal south side
Glad you’re opening this up again! Looking forward to listening/reading/seeing what you’re creating. Also looking forward to the links to the creations of others... I’ve always found the best way to discover new music and art is to find out what the artists I admire are following, and you certainly fall in that category. Continuing on the dorky name track, maybe a play on the word Pensive... Spencive Thoughts, Spenciveness... dorky enough?

Look forward to hearing more Spencervations. Welcome to NC. I'm in Raleigh and know a great secret hiking spot if you're near.

Hope you’re enjoying NC. I’m in Asheville, a pretty cool town in the Blue Ridge Mtns. Hope the session goes great.
