I apologize…on your Dad’s post I thought he had said it was a benefit for Kawasaki disease for Sammy at a concert at the Vic…I was kindly corrected on his substack by Diane and your Dad. My nephew had Kawasaki disease just before I had learned your father was doing a benefit concert for the disease….my nephew is closer to Sammy’s age, but I think I’m just getting old.

You really have a talent for creatively documenting your life’s experiences. Thanks for putting it out there.

Please keep these coming! You have fantastic narrative skill, a natural talent for description and understatement, and a voice that's uniquely your own. I like the way each one is linked to one before; I was thinking 'what about the cat? where's Squeak?' and there he was at the end. You delivered. It's like reading a serialized novel. Or what I imagine it must have been like back when they did those. I'm hooked!

Great post! My block in Arlington, Texas, a street over from where the kids who formed Pantera lived, always had this one dog covered in tomato juice. It just never learned to stay away from the skunks.

Just read the opening chapter of ‘Braiding Sweetgrass’ wherein the author likens gathering pecans (still in fruit) to trying to carry a bunch of tennis balls- very tricky.

Oh, for heaven’s sake, “Dusk” was the name of my very first band. In the year 198X…nope. I just can’t type that! 😔

Thanks for the great reporting from the field. Keep ‘em coming.

I heard Sebastian Bach on the radio 'promoting' his auto biography. After hearing him whine, which is apparently his 'thing', I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to know more. I love how when I read Neil, Kif

and Eric Burdon's books I could hear them in my mind. That would have been asking too much.

Spencer, it's always a pleasure to read your observations about your environment. You have a keen observational eye, and the ability to articulate your thoughts in a clear and entertaining manner. I see a book in your future...
