I was right up front at that Shaky Knees show! My cheap Walmart poncho was not up to the task, I was a mess by the end of the set, and then I got lost trying to find the stage Kevin Morby was on. (Why was he scheduled immediately after you all? Why do I have no sense of direction??) But you all did an admirable job and I’m glad I was there. I have video (and a photo of me looking like I just waded through the entire ocean) but I don’t think I can share it here.

Yo La Tengo recently played a show for Whole Children, an organization for disabled kids and adults in W. MA. It was the coolest thing. They opened for the Friendship Band, Whole Children's rock group.

You kind of would have had to be on Whole Children's mailing list. It was in Northampton. Did you see their Treehouse show?

You are all such troopers with the biggest hearts. Glad you had a chance to reunite under less adverse conditions. I will admit, I’m very happy to have been indoors at Nashville. Love that you picked a pic of your mom with Mavis. Happy Mother’s Day to two super special moms!! 💜

Hello Spencer from the Chattanooga auditorium 20 minutes before you go on! We loved last night’s show in the rain. It’s a wonderful tour with WaxaWilco❤️

Thanks for sharing the tour play by play and personal insights. These tour stops all seem to have new challenges and opportunities. Glad the “show must go on” attitude is alive and well.

Your Atlanta set was incredible. I’m so happy I was there in spite of the weather. I was there an hour ahead of show time to make sure I didn’t miss any of it! Now that you’re 0 for 2 in Atlanta weather I hope you’ll turn up next tour indoors. But if not, I’ll be there anyway!

Ahhh Shaky Knees. I was hiding in a trailer bathroom waiting for your set and looking at the radar (which was gnarly) when I heard the music start. ‘They’re playing in this?? That’s punk as fuck! Let’s go, girls!’ I declared as I’m the only girlie running out of the dry bathroom into a serious spontaneous storm (10% chance of rain an hour prior - I was glued to the weather app heading into the fest, debating my rain coat). A local reported 2” of rain in 30 minutes in his nearby yard - normally I’d call bullshit but I was there. I believe it. It lasted only one set, my feet were water logged for the next 7 hours and my new hat shrunk just smaller than my head BUT. That was one of the best concert experiences of 2024, dancing in the rain screaming IF YOU AINT LIVING THEN YOU’RE DYING and man I felt like I was living. And I have horrible storm anxiety! It was just complete downpour surrender, and totally self inflicted. I play Tigers Blood for a taste of that feeling of dancing in the rain so often that after the wet Chastain set Saturday, I overheard my husband (who sought shelter at Shaky Knees and had dry shoes all night) say ‘that felt like a greatest hits set because my wife has played this album so many times’ hahaha ROCK ON

What a beautiful and accurate description of your mom. I especially love 'no one with a moral compass truer' than hers. If someone should say that about me, at the end of my life, I would die happily knowing my life was so worthwhile. (and it would have to be at the end; I have a long way to go before I achieve this excellent quality, if ever!)

Your report on the storm in Atlanta makes me want to go straight to Live Oak Bank Pavillion RIGHT NOW and tell them NO BANNERS for tomorrow night! Storms are predicted for Wilmington, but I'll be there, maybe smuggle in heavy duty shears just in case 😉

Saw your (and Wilco's) show in Chattanooga, the city of my birth but from where I moved away many years ago. All y'all sounded fabulous!
