I was awed by Iceland, the expansiveness of it and I was completely charmed by the kindness and openness of the folks we met. Not sure if the robust nightlife would have tinged my warm impression. Haha! Nightlife for me anymore is nighty-nightlife (and it's lovely!) A place has to be pretty extraordinary when 3 nights with Wilco is the icing! :)

I wish I could have joined you all in Iceland! It looked magical and your descriptions have me putting it firmly onto my bucket list! Someday.

Loved up the country myself & 3 shows at Harpa. My trip ended giving you a little bow at the airport 💞 I can not stay up late for Tweedy show but have had such fun “getting to know” you Tweedy’s over the years 🧌

Yay!! Lovely writing….I was in Reykjavík for these shows. Every now and then I’d see a member of Wilco bopping about but I was too shy to ask for a selfie. Since the Tweedy Shows (especially during Covid times…) my 9 year old sold Joey has loved Spencer so I’d have been braver if I’d seen him about. Alas..no!!🤪☀️💋❤️

Seems like it might be the negative ions generated by waterfalls and the ocean that make them so memorable. Loved your dispatch! Would like to experience it myself someday..Be well!

I just love your travelogue, especially as I’ve been stuck at home for so long. I dream along with the narrative and photos and let myself imagine the smells and sounds and how the light is so different from place to place.

KEXP has had a special connection with Iceland for many years now and everyone I know associated with that has just glowed when talking about their trips there.

Went and saw a buddy of mine on Friday...one of my more fascinating buddies, if you get the drift. He’s lived. He spent a better part of the visit discussing how INCREDIBLE a recent trip to Iceland was, in which he and his son soaked it in. He talked a lot about the magma...I had no clue!

Pictures never do anything justice for me, but the pics he showed me were almost humbling in a way...that something like that exists and I’ve never witnessed anything CLOSE to it. Have to put it on my list. Cheers!

That community is a good reminder of how smaller groups of people can manage culture well and differently than larger groups with a lot more flux. Virtues on both sides but currently populations like this are more rare. Adore them.

another fantastic dispatch, beloved by those of us who are relatively tied-to-home during these busy times of year, when schools are winding down for kids, and travel is almost completely impractical. I loved that you and Casey were able to so easily home in on #alliesnagila so far from home 😀

Survived the eruption of Mt. St. Helens here...it was breathtaking...but getting volcanic ash off your car is a drag...
